So we got to spend 5 days in the charming city of Cincinnati. We were attending the Simply Youth Ministry Conference and we got to meet and hang out with some pretty awesome people. We went thinking that we were going to a conference AND getting a mini vacation out of it, but the schedule left little time for relaxing. It was however, completely paid for including the 4 start hotel we were in and all of our meals... so relaxing or not, it was needed and very much so appreciated.
I spent most of my time under the mentoring and counsel of Kathy Fields (Doug Field's wife) on how to balance your relationship with God, your family and you ministry. I learned so much and am even more excited now about starting a family and living out me and Seth's calling in full time ministry. It was so refreshing to see, meet and really get to know the hearts of people who have been where we are and who have made it to the other side with their lives, families, and ministries still healthy and stronger than when they had started. I'll write more about the specifics at a later time. It was seriously so much to soak up in 5 days, but I am dwelling on it right now and trying to figure out what it will look like to apply it to mine and Seth's life and ministry.
Because of our crazy schedule, the only time we had to explore the city was around midnight each night! Our hotel was right in the heart of down town and we were on the 22nd floor, so our view was so pretty... not to mention it snowed half of the time we were there so that just added to the beauty.
So here are some pictures of us exploring the down town area... at midnight... and in 25 degree weather...
