Snow, Snow go away come again another day...

If you read my post in Color Me Inspired yesterday I talked about how we ended up not driving out to the church to work because it was a snow day. The roads were horrible and in some instances the 30 miniute drive just is not worth the risk. It ended up working out for Seth because he had some work he could do in the new church building that is just a few minutes from our house. So, even though I was stuck at home in the snow, it made for some amazing "me" time. So I stayed in my comfy clothes most of the day. The house was very clean and needed little work, so I took advantage of the calmness that the day had to offer and curled up on the couch with my favorite blanket and blogged, read, wrote and drew in my journal, did a few design sketches and brainstormed, I allowed myself to go deep into thought over anything and everything and of course I day dreamed... all the while drinking some black starbucks coffee with some ready whip on top... I later switched to some hot chai tea with a hint of cream. It was heavenly! (the whole day, not just the tea!)

About half way into my day, ice had taken over the snow and well, what started out as a pretty little snow storm turned into a pretty nasty ice storm which led to some nasty situations around town and in our own front yard. From the looks of it, our house and our front yard took some of the hardest hits. We have a huuuuuge tree that isn’t so huge anymore, and we have another tree that completely bit the dust, and in our back yard ANOTHER tree that dropped a nice chuck off of it… Here are some pictures of the front yard:

Even though it was fiercely cold and gloomy outside, my day was beautiful and looked more like this:
