Pretty Things

I went tumblr-ing today and found so many pretty and inspiring things, I don't even know what to do with myself. Isn't is crazy how just a picture of one things that we find attractive can tug at our hearts so wildly? Well, here are the things that tugged at my heart today. I hope you have a lovely Thursday and that it leads way into a beautiful weekend for you.

1.) Couch Picnic. I will be stealing this idea.

2.) Bows and Pearls on a t-shirt. This is just flat out cute.

3.) I love him/her. Me and Seth have always joked about getting a tattoo of each other's names, but it's never really developed into too serious of an idea. Seth has 3/4 sleeves and my tattoo count is almost up to the double digit range. I LOVE this idea.

4.) If there was even an office that I would want to have, it would be this one. I fell hard for this workspace. It's like cottage-bohemian-vintage glam all rolled into one.

5.) Having a nice day. I like this because #5 and #6 are things that can almost guarantee that my day will start out nicely. It's the simple things. So find some simple things that make you happy, and place them in your everyday life. simple things are just... well, simple. They are much easier to accommodate into everyday life than the complex things that make us happy. And for the record, there are a lot of complex things that make me happy, they just have to be spread out and in moderation, or else I would wear myself (and my budget)out!

Floor Flare

Me and Seth made a quick trip to "Big Lots" in search of a new desk for me to set up my computer at and work on my projects at. Sometimes you can find great furniture deals there, so keep that in mind next time you are shopping around and need a bargain. Well, Big Lots didn't give us many options as far as desks or workspaces go, but as we were roaming around these bright and beautiful rugs totally caught my attention. I fell in love with them before I looked at the price, which can really be a dangerous thing, but in this case it was totally meant to be because they were only $5.00 a piece! Can you believe that?! Look at these beauties! I ended up leaving the store with three of them. There were so many options, all with different color combinations. I just kept finding more and laying them out all down the aisle while I narrowed down my choices. Seth was so patient. I am so glad I found them! We needed some rugs inthe new house and they add just the right amount of flare to the area they cover.

Apples of My Eye: Two for Tea... or Maybe Just One

There's nothing quite as tranquil and relaxing as a fresh cup of hot tea.

I could always go for a fresh cup, but I believe that there is just something remarkable about putting on the kettle and enjoying a cup in the middle of an anxiety saturated day.

It brings calm. It requires you to stop and enjoy the few seconds that you have with just you... and your tea cup of choice.

I go through tea phases, but right now I've been doing a lot of hanging out with Earl Grey. Just a touch of sweetener and a drop of cream.... perfect.

I vote that we institute a mandatory "Tea Time" every day.

After traveling this past weekend to a big city, I was reminded once again just how much I adore life in the city. I'm perfectly OK with the fact that I don't live right in the heart of a big city anymore, but a part of my heart will always jump with excitement anytime I see a sky line plastered across the sky.

Something that always catches my eye in etsy is fake food. Or should I say felt food???

For Christmas, I really want to get Kai some little sets to play with, but at this point everything goes straight to his mouth and that might result in some tragic fuzz in the mouth incidents, and I would hate that. Maybe next year?

It's easier to find patterns for the little foods than it is to actually find the little foods, so read carefully before you buy!

Coffee? Hot cocoa? Latte?

Fancy-Schmancy Coffee

One might call me a "coffee snob" but I'm really not. McCafe works fine for me, but when the opportunity for good... and I mean gooooood coffee presents itself. I can not resist. A good cup of coffee can just do wonders.

Gray and Black winter wardrobes.

It might seem a little boring to some people, but I love how it just fits in with the whole look and feel of cold snowy days... and is always the perfect canvas to add your own pops of color here and there.

I don't know if it's the holidays, the gorgeous white snow, the excuse to cuddle... but I really love the winter season. It's not my favorite, but it is definitely something I get excited about. I'm sure all of the fun that you can have with your winter wardrobe also inspires my love for winter as well.

3.) AN ORGANIZED CLOSET STOCKED WITH THE PERFECT SEASONAL WARDROBE

(Such as a good base of black shoes for fall and winter)

4.) BAKING PRETTY THINGS...
(or sometimes things that are more tasty than pretty)

JAMIE has inspired me to create my own "work space" somewhere in our house. Seth has so kindly offered that if I share some of my drawers with him that are in our bedroom, he will share his office with me. When that project is completed, I will be able to MAKE as well as continue to bake pretty things!

(Mainly articles of clothing and accessories that radiate femininity.)
